Avondale Estates Mayor Jonathan Elmore gives his first State of the City address 7:30 p.m. Monday at Avondale Estates City Hall, 21 North Avondale Plaza.
Elmore plans to briefly discuss Euramex Management, the developer who own 16 downtown acres and has given no public presentation of its development plans.
Euramex purchased three acres on College Avenue and Maple Street (former site of the “erector set”) in August 2014, and the 13-acre Fenner Dunlop site in October 2014.
Elmore will mention the importance of re-establishing a street grid on the Fenner-Dunlop footprint before Euramex builds anything. As the mill expanded decades ago, many of that area’s original streets were truncated or erased altogether.
