Christmas will be here before you know it.

But at the Lighting of Avalon on Nov. 20, it'll be hard to miss.

The free event at the mixed use Alpharetta development is set for from 1 p.m. into the evening. It will feature many attractions including performances by holiday stilt walkers and carolers and Santa lighting the 30-foot tree.

The event coincides with the annual opening of Avalon on Ice. That will begin with a figure skating performance.
