The Gwinnett Board of Commissioners approved a special use permit Dec. 16 for continued auto sales at Parkwood Motors at Stone Mountain Highway and Parkwood Road.

Larry and Sharon Pearson have operated used car sales at the location since 1995. The commissioners’ approval was made with stipulations to bring the existing use into zoning conformance with the county’s Unified Development Ordinance. Conditions include restrictions on any future change to the exterior structure and signage as well as guidelines for where vehicles may be parked. Additionally, outdoor loud speakers, decorative balloons, hot air balloons and sign-walkers are prohibited.
