The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners voted Dec. 16 to change the name of the Georgia Bioscience Joint Development Authority to Georgia’s Innovation Corridor Joint Development Authority to better align with the organization’s mission.

The authority’s task is to enhance economic development along the Highway 316/University Parkway Corridor in Gwinnett, Athens-Clark, Barrow and Oconee counties. Their goal is to attract businesses with world-class research and development, advanced manufacturing and knowledge-based technologies.
