Spurred by the recent opening of South Cobb Diner, more businesses have plans to open in downtown Austell.
Dough in the Box, with its original location at 3184 Austell Road, Marietta, has plans to open its second location in the fall, said Jim Graham, the city’s director of Community Development and Parks Departments.
Within the next 60 to 90 days, other businesses with plans to open in downtown Austell include a western wear and work wear shop, a man cave shop and an insurance company, Graham said.
“The downtown area is quickly getting revitalized a lot quicker than we thought. We don’t have too many buildings left to be sold,” Graham added.
South Cobb Diner is a companion restaurant to West Cobb Diner in a city-owned building at 5850 Love St. that is being leased by the restaurant.
For now, hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
