Cobb County authorities were investigating a crash Saturday in which the driver, who was not wearing a seat belt and may have been drinking, was killed after being partially ejected.

The crash occurred on Hurt Road north of Main Station Drive in Smyrna around 2 p.m., police said.

According to investigators and witnesses, the 1993 Dodge Stealth driven by Louis Alberto Amadour of Austell was topping a hill and negotiating a curve when he lost control of the car.

The vehicle hit some trees and overturned, partially pinning Amadour, 21, underneath, spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said in a release.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and investigators believe speed and alcohol were contributing factors.
