The Austell City Council recently adopted fee increases for cleaning fees, occupational taxes, sign permits and building permits.
They include:
- An extra $100 for cleaning fees to any renter of the Collar Community Center.
- Occupational taxes will be $125 for one to nine employees, $175 for 10 to 19 employees, $200 for 20 to 49 employees, $350 for 50 or more employees and $50 for the late fee.
- Sign permits will be $25 for one to 10 square feet, $50 for 11 to 25 square feet, $60 for 26 to 50 square feet and $80 for 51 square feet and greater.
- Building permit fees are more complex with permit calculations at $4 times $1,000 of residential construction cost and $5 times $1,000 of commercial construction cost.
- Base fees are $75 for residential building and electrical costs and $150 for commercial building and electrical costs.
- More base fees are $50 for residential plumbing and HVAC costs and $100 for commercial plumbing and HVAC costs.
