Surplus items ranging from firetrucks to fancy footwear will be auctioned off by Fayette County on April 12-13.

The first such county auction in nearly a decade, the event will be administered by Auctions International and include a wide variety of items that have either been retired from service or seized by law enforcement, including more than 75 vehicles, heavy equipment, bikes, athletic shoes and designer jewelry. A preview event will be held 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on April 12; registration for the auction will be at 8 a.m. April 13, with the auction itself starting at 10 a.m., all at 115 McDonough Road in Fayetteville.
