Attorney David Lockhart, 37, was elected Tuesday as the new mayor of Forest Park, defeating Sparkle Adams who resigned her council seat in February to run for mayor. Lockhart won 462-347. The runoff election was held to replace Corine Deyton who resigned as mayor last year for personal reasons. Lockhart said Tuesday night he wants “pure transparency, open access for everyone and availability for our citizens to give their input to their own city.” Lockhart takes office May 6 and will serve the rest of Deyton’s term which ends in December. Lockhart and his wife Grace have four children.
