Atlanta weekend weather & events: Afternoon storms may strike

Monday morning’s commute should be dry, but there’s a chance for afternoon storms.

Friday: Humidity and temps are on the rise. Expect a high near 90 Friday afternoon. The chance of afternoon storms is only 20 percent.

• Cyclists will gather in Piedmont Park for the annual Atlanta Moon Ride.

• Head to the High Museum of Art to check out the new "Winnie-the-Pooh: Exploring a Classic" exhibit.

Saturday: High temperatures should dip a bit to the high 80s, but rain chances increase to 30 percent.

• The 35th annual, two-day Virginia-Highland Summerfest kicks off Saturday.

• Comedian, author and former 1992 Miss Tarzana contestant Heather McDonald brings her wit to City Winery.

Sunday: High temperatures should hit the high 80s, rain chances increase to 40 percent.

• Take the family to see "Sing Along the Road Again" at the Center for Puppetry Arts.

• See the “Winnie-the-Pooh” play based on A.A. Milne’s stories at the Rich Auditorium at the Woodruff Arts Center.

Monday: High temperatures in the high 80s, rain chances remain at 40 percent.
