Forget about all that ice last week. Metro Atlanta is in the midst of a warming trend.

“It will be warmer each day for the next five days,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz said.

Sunday got off to a cool start but will see a high of 59 degrees on a sunny and mild day, he said. Winds will be light, at 5 to 10 mph, compared to Saturday, when the area was under a wind advisory and reached only 48 degrees.

Monday and Tuesday, high temperatures are expected to be in the low to mid-60s, with a 30 percent chance of rain late Monday into Tuesday, Nitz said.

Highs should reach 69 on Wednesday and 71 on Thursday, with lows in the low 50s both days, he said.
