The warm weekend weather in Atlanta is expected to last through Thursday, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Katie Walls said.

Sunday’s “pop-up” rain showers won’t affect the Monday morning commute, Walls said, but cloudy skies could affect visibility, Walls said.

“Watch for patches of hazy fog,” Walls said.

A 40 percent chance of rain Monday afternoon will give way to dry air and sunny skies on Tuesday.

A cool start in the mid-50s is expected to climb to Tuesday’s high of 81 degrees, Walls said, making Tuesday the warmest of the week.

When the wet weather that helped keep pollen counts lower on Sunday dries out, pollen counts are expected to jump from a medium level back into high levels, according to pollen.com. The pollen counts for Tuesday through Thursday are all more than 11 on a scale from zero to 12.

Highs Wednesday and Thursday hover in the mid-70s, before temperatures are expected to drop down into the 60s Friday, Walls said.
