Temperatures dipped into the mid-30s across metro Atlanta early Thursday, but brisk winds made it feel even colder.

Winds gusting as high as 30 mph dropped the wind chill into the mid-20s around daybreak.

Channel 2 Action News meteorologist David Chandley said the chilly conditions will persist through the day, with afternoon highs only climbing into the upper 40s. Lows Thursday night will be in the low 30s, Chandley said.

Clouds will increase on Friday, and Chandley is predicting showers for Friday night and Saturday morning.

Highs will be in the mid-50s on Friday and low 50s on Saturday, with lows Friday night in the low 40s.

The chance of rain is 60 percent Friday night and 80 percent Saturday morning, according to Chandley.

Sunday should be sunny but colder, with highs in the upper 40s and lows in the upper 20s.
