Heat and storms will punctuate Atlanta afternoons for much of the week.
Channel 2 Actions News meteorologist Karen Minton is calling for high temperatures in the 90s all week, including 95 on Monday.
The rest of the week won't be quite as hot, with highs in the low 90s, said Minton. A mid- to late-week front should move through the area, bringing more clouds and slightly lower temperatures. Still, heat indexes, which factor in the temperature and humidity, will likely top 100 every day this week.
No major storm systems will be moving through the area, but afternoon scattered showers should be expected.
Other than claps of thunder, Atlantans can expect "very high humidity and muggy" conditions this week, said Minton.
