Cherokee County students will only have to make up two missed days, despite an announcement by the district earlier this week that six missed days would be rescheduled in February in March.

Students have missed six days this year due to bad weather – five this week and one day in December. They will be required to report on March 17 and 18, which were originally designated as teacher furlough days.

But students will not have to attend during their winter holiday on Feb. 22-25 as previously announced. That’s because the district learned it can cancel up to four days due to inclement weather, said spokeswoman Carrie Budd.

All weekend events held at school campuses have been canceled, including sports activities and events held by outside groups.
