Temperatures were 15 to 20 degrees below normal across metro Atlanta early Tuesday, but will be back above normal by later this week, forecasters said.

Lows Tuesday morning ranged from 35 degrees in Alpharetta and Peachtree City to 40 in Chamblee and 42 at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. The normal low for April 24 is 54, the normal high 74.

After starting out in the low 50s, Wednesday should see highs in the upper 70s, Channel 2 Action News chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said. It will be a breezy day with winds at 10 to 20 m.p.h. in the afternoon.

Thursday and Friday look to be even warmer, with highs in the low to mid 80s and lows around 60 degrees, he said.

Temperatures will remain in the low to mid 80s over the weekend, and lows will be in the low to mid 60s.

Sunday, there is a 20 percent chance of isolated showers, Burns said.
