The New American Tea Party, a coalition groups and individuals concerned about the country's fiscal direction, held similar tea parties across the U.S. The party's Web site says it's non-partisan, but the events are generally affiliated with conservative, free market and Libertarian groups.

About 300 people turned out for the Atlanta Tea Party in front of the state capitol on Friday to protest the growth of government and the recently passed stimulus and bailouts.
