An Atlanta attorney was bested by a comedian on a Monday evening episode of “Jeopardy!”

Adam Francois Watkins, described by the quiz competition show as a “stay-at-home dad and lawyer,” was the returning champion. He was coming off a $25,706 win against Sara Butner, of North Carolina, and Maureen Block, of California. That episode aired Friday.

On Monday, Watkins was up against competitors Alex Schmidt, of California, and Lee Glazer, of Maine. Schmidt, the comedian, won with $20,798.

Glazer, a director of a college research center, took second place with $2,000. That left Watkins in third, with $1,000.

Watkins joins the ranks of metro Atlanta contestants, such as an Atlanta librarian who knows her Kendrink Lamar trivia, a Georgia Tech student who retweeted his haters, the chairman of the DeKalb County GOP and an archivist at the Breman Museum.

The show hosted by Alex Trebek is in its 35th season.
