If you had plans to fulfill that New Year’s resolution to get out more or exercise by taking a stroll through Kennesaw Mountain this weekend, good for you but better luck next week.

The Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park announced on its Facebook page that the park will close early Friday, remain closed Saturday and might have a delayed opening Sunday due to weather.

If you haven't heard, there's a snow storm coming that has already prompted an emergency response from Gov. Nathan Dealclosed schools (including Kennesaw State University) and cleared bread shelves at supermarkets all over the city.

And it hasn't even hit the area yet. That probably happens about noon.

The park’s visitor center closes at 2 p.m.

“During the next few days, visitors are encouraged to respect the park closures and stay out of park areas as emergency response will suffer from delays due to the weather,” the park posted.

Channel 2's Darryn Moore reports.
