Atlanta police arrested a man and two women early Tuesday after they allegedly robbed a man on Lena Street, pistol-whipping him and taking his pants, shoes and other belongings.

According to dispatchers, the incident happened before 3 a.m. in the 1000 block of Lena Street, near the Ashby MARTA station in northwest Atlanta.

Atlanta police spokesman Eric Schwartz said the victim was struck several times in the face with a handgun and sustained multiple cuts and abrasions.

"The victim also reported that he had his clothing, identification, cash, a gift card and [MARTA] card stolen," Schwartz said.

A lookout was placed on the suspects' vehicle, and about 4 a.m., officers spotted the vehicle and followed it to Westlake and North avenues. The three suspects fled, but were arrested after a short foot chase.

Schwartz said police arrested Tiffany Vega, 23, Crystal Vega, 22 and Malcolm McClarty, 19.

McClarty spent five months in the Fulton County Jail last year after being arrested on burglary, aggravated assault and weapon charges, according to jail records.
