Atlanta police arrested four people Monday night after responding to an incident regarding paintball guns being fired in the city.

Officers found people shooting paintball guns at each other in the street, Atlanta police spokeswoman Officer Stephanie Brown said. Police had been dispatched to the 900 block of Washington Place concerning damage to property, and they reported seeing cars that had been struck.

People began to disperse once officers were on scene, but police detained four people who had — or had just been seen holding — paintball guns, Brown said. Officers seized nine paintball guns, about 7,500 paintballs, 20 paintball gun air tanks and one firearm.

Officers also impounded three cars after finding paintball guns inside them. Phillip Collins, Ohagi Gates, Marcus Foley and Frankie Simmons were arrested and charged with a city ordinance that bans shooting any air gun, air pistol, slingshot or similar instrument or weapon in city limits.
