Atlanta police are investigating a robbery that left a man with a gunshot wound to the chest.

The robbery happened at 2285 Metropolitan Parkway and the unidentified victim was transported in critical condition to Grady Memorial Hospital, police said.

Once at the hospital, doctors said he was stabilized, police said.

Police said information on the perpetrator is unknown and the exact circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation.
