The city of Atlanta has pledged $1 million to the Woodruff Arts Center Transformation Campaign.

The Atlanta City Council voted Monday to finalize the donation to the Woodruff Arts Center, which includes the Alliance Theatre, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the High Museum of Art.

The campaign focused on endowment funding, capital improvements and funding for expanded family-oriented programming and more. It raised $110 million - $10 million more than its original goal at its launch in April 2015, the city said. The capital improvements are mainly for the renovation of the Alliance Theatre.
