Beginning April 1, Atlanta residents will have to schedule their bulk pick up.

The city of Atlanta announced there will be a maximum of 12 scheduled pickups per year.

Residents face a $325 fine if their bulk pickup is not scheduled or exceeds the allotted number of scheduled pickups in a year.

Those who place their bulk items outside without scheduling them for pickup will be given a citation.

Bulk items include sofas, refrigerators, mattresses, dining room sets,  bedroom suites and yard trimmings.

Residents must set their items out by 7 p.m. before the schedule pickups.

Bulk pickups can be schedule at ATL311.com, by using the ATL311 app or dialing 311.
