An Atlanta man accused of robbing a bank in the spring was caught when he entered another branch an hour away last week.
Jason Lamar Storms, 30, is accused in the March robbery of a Wachovia in Clemson, S.C., according to police.
In that robbery, a man wearing a mask, a baseball cap and jeans and carrying a firearm entered the bank and ordered employees to lie on the floor, Clemson Police Chief Jimmy Dixon said in a statement.
At one point, the man went behind the counter and into the vault, he said.
Police believe that man was Storms, who lives on Clifton Heights Lane in Atlanta.
After walking away from the bank, the man apparently escaped in a gold-colored Ford Taurus with a Georgia plate, police said.
Police received a tip when a man matching the previous suspect’s description was spotted Monday at a Wachovia branch in Lyman. S.C., a little more than an hour away.
Storms was arrested and booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Center, according to jail records.
