The city of Atlanta has partnered with Crisis Text Line, a free, 24-hour, seven-day-a-week, text-messaging support line for people in crisis. The text line receives messages discussing suicide and depression as well as self-harm that are handled by trained volunteer counselors.

People can now text ATL to 741741 to receive crisis support.

Crisis Text Line will also provide data reports that can inform school policy, research and legislation around mental health.
