The two men caught spray painting graffiti on a billboard along I-20 are out on bond.
Daniel Holtzclaw, 23, of Atlanta, and Seth Shaw, 19, of Griffin, were released on a $5,500 total signature bond after each had a first court appearance, according to Fulton County Jail records.
Shaw was released from jail on April 21. Holtzclaw was released the next day.
The two face felony criminal charges after they allegedly were caught spray painting graffiti on a billboard along I-20 around 4 a.m. on April 20.
A truck driver saw two men spray painting a Verizon Wireless billboard, near the Boulevard exit, and called Atlanta police.
Officers went to that area, around Chastain Street and Woodward Avenue, and caught two men as they were bicycling away from the area.
The men are accused of spray painting the word "Cruel."
Police said they found cans of spray paint.
Shaw and Holtzclaw were taken to the Fulton County Jail and charged with criminal damage to property, criminal trespass and possession of tools for a commission of a crime.
Police are trying to determine if Shaw and Holtzclaw are responsible for other graffiti in the city.
Two Atlanta men and a metal and supply company in Edgewood filed a lawsuit earlier this month against a group of graffiti taggers, including two well-known street artists.
The claims include intentional destruction of property and emotional distress, according to the suit, filed April 1 in Fulton County State Court. They are asking for $1 million from each person named in the lawsuit. Shaw and Holtzclaw are not part of the lawsuit.
