A crew of gunmen beat, tied up and robbed an Atlanta couple returning home early Sunday morning, police said.

The victims, unidentified by police, were walking into a house on the 1600 block of Oak Knoll Circle at about 1:30 a.m. when they were confronted and beaten by four men with guns, said Atlanta police officer John Chafee.

The suspects tied up the victims, took money from the home and fled, police said.

Police did not indicate the severity of injuries.

The victims described seeing five men sitting in a vehicle on their street before the incident.
