Police in Athens are investigating a rape of a 20-year-old woman.

Athens-Clarke County Police did not identify the location of the attack other than saying it was on the west side. However, Lt. Keith Morris said it did not occur on or near the University of Georgia campus.

The victim told investigators she was sexually assaulted around 3 a.m. Saturday and she knows her attacker.

No description is available of the attacker, Morris said.
