Arrests made for allegedly seeking sex at Paulding park

Authorities have made several arrests in recent weeks of men allegedly searching a Paulding County park for random daytime sex.

Mt. Tabor Park was where Paulding County Sheriff's deputies arrested five individuals during the investigation ongoing since April, authorities said.

"We made several arrests of individuals that were known to be coming to that location looking for illicit sexual activities with strangers," deputy Brandon Gurley told WSB Radio.

Gurley said complaints were made back in April about men meeting up at the park with other men.

At the time of the arrests, some deputies encountered some suspects but didn't have cause to arrest them, and some suspects drove up and then away when they saw police activity, authorities said.

"This is a noticeable problem in our park that we felt we needed to take action on and restore a family environment," Gurley said.
