Atlanta police have charged a 17-year-old in the murder of a Griffin man who had been missing for nearly two months.

Officers found Devontavius H. McClain's body in the trunk of his car June 14. The vehicle was parked behind an abandoned apartment complex in the 2270 block of Brooks Avenue.

McClain, 19, had disappeared from Griffin on April 20, and foul play was not initially suspected.

The suspect, Marquayvian Gude, allegedly shot McClain in the head before stuffing him in the trunk of his Chevrolet Impala, said Atlanta police spokesman John Chafee. Gude was already in custody in Fulton County Jail on an unrelated charge.
