Oct 9, 2018After interviewing four architectural firms for the design of Fayetteville’s new city hall building, the City Council voted 3-0-2 on Oct. 4 to approve the selection of Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood Inc.
The Atlanta firm submitted a proposed contract and preliminary concept plan to the city, which includes a new administrative building and a public park on 10 acres of property on Stonewall Avenue recently purchased from the Fayette County Board of Education. The city negotiated a compensation rate of 7.3 percent of the total cost of the project, which is capped at $15 million.
Both the building and the park will be completed at the same time, currently projected for the summer of 2020.
