Atlanta Public Schools sent layoff notices last week to about 90 teachers and 12 central office employees, according to district officials. The "reduction in force" notices are due to a redistricting approved in the spring, school closures and budget reductions. The school district is still hiring for select positions, which may require specific certifications or credentials. Info: www.atlanta.k12.ga.us.
