Peachtree City’s police department is accepting applications for its next adult Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) classes, which will meet weekly from 6:30 to 9 p.m. March 5-May 7.

Participants learn hands-on skills related to disaster medical treatment, light search and rescue, active shooter awareness, disaster psychology and emergency preparedness. Applicants must be Georgia residents at least 18 years old, pass a criminal history background check and sign a waiver of liability. The class is free but limited to the first 24 people accepted. A graduation ceremony will be held May 14. Applications can be downloaded at www.cert-ptc.com or picked up Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the police headquarters, 350 Ga. 74 South.
