A man jumped over an Atlanta Rite Aid counter and filled his backpack with cough syrup, according to police.

An employee told police that the man watched her until she “finished with her last customer.” She said he then hopped over the counter, made eye contact and told her, “don’t move and you won’t get hurt.”

The suspect took 10 bottles of Promethazine cough syrup worth $137.96 and “walked out of the store calmly,” according to the report. The incident happened July 16 at 891 Ponce de Leon Ave.

A crime scene unit swabbed the counter for DNA. Police are also looking for help from the public in identifying the suspect.

Anyone with information may contact Crime Stoppers Atlanta anonymously at 404-577-8477 or online to be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
