A College Park man opened fire on two men breaking into his apartment, wounding one of them, early Tuesday morning, police said.

The incident occurred at 3:30 a.m. at the Stonebrook Apartments on 1624 Norman Drive, near North Clayton High School, said Sgt. Otis Willis, spokesman for the Clayton County Police Department.

Two suspects  forced their way into an apartment and were confronted by the resident, who fired at them with a handgun, Willis told the AJC. One suspect was hit in the buttocks and abdomen, Willis said.

Both suspects fled. The wounded man, who was 20 years old, was found in front of North Clayton High, where he had collapsed, Willis said. He was taken to a local hospital. The other suspect is being sought.

The condition of the wounded man was not immediately known.
