An apartment fire displaced about 30 residents Tuesday in Cobb County.

Firefighters responded to the incident about 9:30 a.m. in the 7200 block of Premier Lane, Cobb fire spokeswoman Denell Boyd told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

When they arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from one of the units at Premier Apartments.

“We ran for our lives,” a tenant told Channel 2 Action News.

Animal control workers were also called to the scene, but it’s unclear if any animals were injured in the fire.

The cause of the fire has not been determined at this time, and no injuries were reported, Boyd said.
