The Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency is holding Pay it Fur-ward, its first-ever animal supplies drive to support the Cherokee County Animal Shelter.

The drive runs from Aug. 10 through Sept. 14. Spokeswoman Lindsey Collett said the agency is looking for such items as paper towels, equine bedding pellets, dryer sheets, dry dog and cat food and cleaning chemicals. Donations can be dropped off at the county recreation center in Woodstock, 7545 Main St.

Collett said it’s one of a series of projects the agency has authored as a community give-back, and that the drive is planned to become an annual affair.
