Sandy Springs continues to book acts for its new Performing Arts Center in City Springs.
Next week, on Thursday, Aug. 16, a former winner of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” will perform there.
Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. and the Joe Gransden Big Band will take the stage at 8:30 p.m. Tickets, ranging from $35 to $50, are still on sale at the City Springs online box office.
Gransden performs often around metro Atlanta. He sings, plays the trumpet and performs alongside a 16-piece band. He has also released 14 albums.

He and Murphy will combine for a night full of jazz in Sandy Springs, including a set called “The Soul of Sinatra.”
“I am excited to team up with Joe and his ‘Big Band’ and be part of the inaugural season of the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center. My fans will have an amazing time and together we will create some fun memories,” Murphy said in a statement.
Murphy grew up in West Virginia and was washing cars before he found his way onto the sixth season of "America's Got Talent" in 2010. After performing Frank Sinatra's "My Way" he won the show, a $1 million prize and an act in Las Vegas after receiving the largest vote total in the show's history.
Since then, he’s released three albums, written a book and performed across the country.
