DeKalb County Superior Court Judge Clarence Seeliger sentenced Luis A. Porras to life in prison without parole Wednesday for the ambush killing of 40-year-old Jameelah Qureshi on Aug. 15, 2009, a spokesman for the DeKalb District Attorney announced.

Prosecutors Jill G. Polster and Mirna G. Andrews won the murder conviction on Tuesday. Qureshi, the mother of four and fiancee of DeKalb Police Sgt. D.A. Thomas, was gunned down in her driveway in a Lithonia subdivision. She was shot at least 13 times while still in her car, according to prosecutors.
