The Alpharetta City Council has awarded a $66,295 design services contract to have its on-call engineering consultant draw up construction plans for the future Mid-Broadwell Park.

Pond & Co. is charged with developing final designs and construction documents for Mid-Broadwell, a 4.1-acre neighborhood park at 1480 and 1490 Mid-Broadwell Road. The City Council approved a conceptual master plan for the facility last September.

According to Pond’s proposal to the city, the firm will address site grading, pathways and walkways, a definition of spaces for picnic areas, a pre-fabricated restroom building, play areas, and a 12-space gravel parking lot, among other tasks.

Pond provided similar design services for Windward Community Park, currently under construction, according to a staff report to the council.

“As the construction of (Windward) park is reaching completion, staff wishes to launch the development of Mid-Broadwell Park, with the intent of construction being completed by the fall of 2020,” staff said.
