Alpharetta to launch technology commission

Gov. Nathan Deal will be in Alpharetta Aug. 20 to help Mayor David Belle Isle launch the Alpharetta Technology Commission, a group charged with identifying investment opportunities and policy decisions for technology companies.

Among its core goals, the commission will work to: attract workforce education opportunities; create an environment for technology company startups; identify opportunities for research and development collaborations; and advise the city on economic development policies to retain and attract technology companies.
