The Alpharetta City Council has approved retaining Peachtree Government Relations as the city’s lobbyist, paid a $3,000 monthly fee.

In a memo to the mayor and council, City Administrator Bob Regus said that while the city has dealt directly with its local legislative delegation and wants to maintain that relationship, “having PGR on board can only help, since they are at the Capitol day in and day out most every day of the year, not just when the Legislature is in session.”

In a pitch letter to Alpharetta, PGR founder Don Bolia said his firm would help the city create a legislative plan; assist with state agency appropriation matters; deliver a tracking system on issues before the General Assembly; set up meetings with legislators and policy makers; and assist in drafting legislation, among other tasks.

Bolia has held staff positions with the Fulton County Commission and Georgia Republican Party, according to the company's website. PGR clients include the city of Brookhaven and the Fulton County schools. Information: http://peachgr.com/
