Alpharetta has signed a five-year renewal with Fulton County for operation of the city jail. Under the agreement, the Sheriff’s Office provides all staffing, food, supplies, transportation, medical and administrative services associated with operating the facility. It also allows the city 12-15 beds for its own inmates.

The city first struck the deal back in 2005 after it found costs associated with operating the jail prohibitive.
