The Alpharetta City Council has approved retaining three design consultants to be on-call to assist in planning current and future park projects.

The Council voted recently to retain the three highest-scoring firms of 11 that had responded to a Recreation and Parks Department request for proposals: Pond and Company, of Norcross; and Alta Planning + Design and TWS, both of Atlanta.

The companies would bill hourly for their services. Rates would be determined by the personnel assigned to a task. Initial projects include the master planning and design of the Windward Soccer Field and Union Hill Hockey Park, according to a staff report.

“Recreation and parks planning and design services cover a variety of project types including facility and park improvements, landscapes, pocket parks, multi-use trail systems, park land development, park infrastructure improvements, and more,” the report says.
