The Alpharetta City Council has adopted a budget that would leave the millage rate at 5.750 through the 2018 fiscal year, unchanged since 2009.

Public hearings on the millage rate levy are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sept. 18, and 6:30 p.m. Sept. 25, in the City Hall Council Chambers, 2 Park Plaza.

Budget highlights include $35 million for capital investment including the milling and resurfacing of city streets, traffic signal repairs and stormwater maintenance, officials said.

There’s increased public safety funding that includes two additional positions and body cameras for police officers, and improved service levels in the Recreation and Parks Department.
