The Alpharetta City Council has awarded a $941,270 contract to install sidewalks and make other improvements along more than a half-mile along Mayfield Road. Ohmshiv Construction LLC put in the lowest bid of 13 submitted for the project, according to a staff report to the council.

Project plans call for laying about 2,750 linear feet of sidewalk, 6 feet wide, on the west/south sides of Mayfield from Chantilly Drive to Bates Road, and about 870 linear feet of 6-foot-wide sidewalk along the east/north sides of Mayfield from Harrington Drive to Bates.

Plans also specify the installation of curbs and gutters, storm drainage and bicycle lanes 4 feet wide where new curbs and gutters are installed, and the resurfacing of Mayfield within the project limits.
