The Alpharetta City Council has awarded a $100,000 contract to create a playground with adaptive and inclusive play components at Wills Park.
Playsouth Playground Creators will enhance an existing playground at the Wills Park Recreation Center for the Alpharetta Recreation, Parks and Cultural Services Department. The project is part of an adaptive playground initiative and a memorandum of understanding with Northside Hospital Wellness, according to a staff report to the council.
BCI Burke Co. manufactured the existing playground equipment, and for warranty and maintenance purposes, parks staff wanted to use BCI for the adaptive components. Playsouth is the exclusive supplier of Burke playground equipment in Georgia.
