A 34-year-old Griffin man facing child molestation and rape charges has been captured in Hilton Head, S.C.

Seven arrest warrants for issued for Akim Jamal Miller last week, according to Investigator Bryan Clanton with Griffin police. But Miller could not be located.

The case was then referred to the U.S. Marshalls, who helped locate Miller at a family member's apartment out of state, Clanton said. Miller was arrested Tuesday without incident, police said. He was taken to the Beaufort County jail, where he is awaiting extradition.

Miller faces a long list of charges that include eight counts of child molestation, seven counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes and four counts of rape, Clanton said. All of the incidents allegedly took place in Spalding County from Jan. 2009 until last month.
