The management of Allatoona Lake in Cobb, Cherokee and Bartow counties has released an updated list showing 11 recreational sites open to the public — though be forewarned, the restrooms are closed.

Beaches, shelters and campgrounds also remain closed over COVID-19 concerns. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said these sites are open: Blockhouse Ramp, Cooper Branch No. 1 Ramp, Cooper’s Furnace, Galts Ferry Ramp, Knox Bridge Ramp, Payne Ramp, Riverside Day Use Area, Stamp Creek Ramp, Tanyard Ramp, Victoria Day Use Area, and Old Highway 41 No. 1 Day Use Area.

All corps-operated trails also are accessible, and campgrounds are tentatively scheduled to open on June 1.

“No fees are being charged at Allatoona, and this expected to continue until Oct. 1,” the corps said. “Issuance of annual and federal passes has been suspended across the board; current pass holders will be extended past their expiration dates.”
